The Survey on circular innovations in Emilia-Romagna and Veneto is one of the main activities developed as part of the PNRR Project “GRINS – Growing Resilient, INclusive and Sustainable.” Using a questionnaire administered with the CAWI/CATI methodology, information was collected on the main characteristics of companies and their innovation strategies, particularly those oriented towards the principles of the circular economy, as well as the use of digital technologies and those related to the Industry 4.0 plan. In addition, a specific section of the questionnaire concerns the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on companies and their response. The questionnaire was administered between October and November 2023 and covers activities carried out in 2020, 2021, and 2022: the final sample consists of 1,549 manufacturing companies, of which 644 (41.58%) are located in Emilia Romagna and 905 (58.42%) in Veneto. This report presents the structure of the survey: sampling plan, representativeness, main characteristics of the companies interviewed, main findings on the adoption of digital technologies, the introduction of circular innovations, and main orientations and strategies with regard to the pandemic.
