He is affiliated with the activities of the Southern National Laboratories of the Italian National Institute for Nuclear Physics (INFN-LNS) and serves as a Visiting Professor at the Department of Management, Northumbria University, Newcastle upon Tyne (UK). He is Associate Editor of the Journal of Intellectual Capital, member of the editorial boards of the Journal of Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Journal of the Knowledge Economy, and Scientific, as well as member of the Advisory Board of Sinergie Italian Journal of Management. He is also Associate Guest Editor of the journal Mercati e Competitività. He is a member of the Advanced Study Center on Innovation Leadership and Health Management (ILhM-Centre) at the University of Catania; of the Scientific Committee of the International Center of Research on International Management (ICRIM) at Università Cattolica (Milan); and of the Scientific Committee of the Centro Studi of the Italian National Union of Young Chartered Accountants (UNGDC Foundation), where he serves as Head of the “Business Culture and Entrepreneurship” area. He is also part of the UNICREDIT territorial working group “Laboratorio Start up Sicilia”. He is listed in the register of experts for ANVUR Third Mission, the Research & Innovation – Horizon 2020 Programme of the European Commission, and the MIUR Register of Reviewers for the evaluation of ministerial programs and outputs. He is an expert in EU funds programming, both direct and indirect, in support of the policy-making activities of the Regional Ministry of Education and Vocational Training of the Sicilian Region. He has served as Board Member of APSTI – Italian Association of Science and Technology Parks, Director General of the Department of Productive Activities, Director General of the Emergency Medical Service 118 Sicily, and President of the Science and Technology Park of Sicily. He has been a Visiting Scholar at the Whitaker Institute for Business, University of Ireland, and a Visiting Lecturer at the Warrington College of Business, University of Florida (USA). He is a member of the Italian Society of Management (SIMA) and of the Italian Academy of Business Administration and Management (AIDEA).
