Andrea Consiglio is Professor of Mathematical Finance at the University of Palermo, Italy. He holds a PhD in Applied Mathematics to Finance and Economics. His research applies stochastic optimization to sovereign debt sustainability under monetary policy, climate and political risk. He has published in Operations Research, Mathematical Programming and the Journal of Banking & Finance, and co-authored Practical Financial Optimization (Wiley, 2009). He has advised the BIS, the European Stability Mechanism and the Bank of Finland, and received the EURO Excellence in Practice Award in 2006.
