This study defines the concept of resilience of a mobility system as “the ability of a transport system to resist external shocks, maintain its functions, and return to full service as quickly as possible.” Through an in-depth recognition of the literature, it discusses the components that jointly characterize the resilience of a mobility system, namely robustness, redundancy, resourcefulness, and rapidity, as well as the factors that influence them. Finally, it presents one case study, e-scooters rental in Turin, showing how redundancy and thereby resilience can be positively affected by the integration between the standard public transportation system and forms of sharing mobility.
