GRINS THEMATIC AREAS
RESOURCES
Evolution in the credit sector, driven by multiple digital challenges, is affecting the supply of innovative products, as a result of the “contamination” of more traditional business models with crypto-assets. However, the emergence of new credit services and offerings on the market has not been matched by a regulatory response in terms of consumer protection. A case in point is crypto lending, which is excluded from the scope of crypto-asset market regulation but is becoming increasingly widespread in both centralised and decentralised systems. This raises a number of questions about the search for a possible “safety net” for consumers, to be found among the available regulatory sources.
