THEMATIC AREA
Research activities focus on analysing the relationship between destabilising public health events, socio-economic variables (such as income, wealth, education, and family composition), and environmental factors, while exploring policies that can be adopted to protect Italian households.
The primary objective is to establish a sustainability laboratory for public health, capable of integrating and disseminating heterogeneous and georeferenced data related to health and other socio-economic variables. These data will be used to monitor and analyse households’ access to healthcare services in Italy.
Key tasks include producing forecasts and scenarios concerning population health, needs, and access to services at the local level, taking into account provinces and local health authorities. Activities also involve measuring health inequalities based on gender, age, income, region, migration background, and other socio-economic variables.
Another essential aspect is the assessment of the effects of socio-economic and environmental factors, as well as welfare policies, on household health, wealth, and labour supply.
Finally, the project examines the impact of health shocks and other exogenous shocks on children’s education, well-being, and both cognitive and non-cognitive outcomes.
