THEMATIC AREA
This research stream aims to address and overcome the measurement challenges identified in the literature, focusing on three interconnected themes: first, analyzing the causes of organized crime infiltration into local institutions and businesses; second, examining the consequences of organized crime infiltration on voter behavior, local public policies, and business performance; and third, investigating how algorithms and artificial intelligence can be leveraged to combat crime.
The main activities of the project include the collection and harmonization of data from various sources concerning criminal infiltration in public administration and private companies.
Another key aspect is the use of algorithms and artificial intelligence to develop indices that indicate the risk of criminal infiltration in public administrations and businesses.
Through this innovative approach, the research stream aims to provide advanced tools to more effectively understand and counteract the penetration of organized crime into economic and social structures.
