GRINS THEMATIC AREAS
This research stream is dedicated to analysing the impact of climate change, focusing on physical and transition risks.
Its main activities involve innovation in financial and quantitative approaches to assess the impact of climate change, taking into account factors such as complexity, uncertainty, and ambiguity to effectively manage financial and sustainability risks. The objective is to develop models and strategies for managing these risks, targeting investors, companies, and the entire economic-financial system.
The research stream also focuses on defining new measures to understand climate-related uncertainty and its policy implications, modelling the interdependence between economic, financial, and climate cycles. Furthermore, it analyses future scenarios to inform decision-makers about the impact of extreme climate events, with an emphasis on ESG factors, and examines the cumulative impact of risks on public debt and the effectiveness of policy and fiscal responses.
