THEMATIC AREA
This research stream analyses the determinants and impacts of innovations and technologies designed to enable the transition to the circular economy paradigm.
The research activity employs technology landscaping methodologies to develop indicators for analyzing and evaluating circular economy-related innovation strategies, and to map geographical, sectoral, and technological topologies and their impacts.
Adopting an ecosystem-based approach, the role of various institutional actors in the generation and dissemination of circular economy technologies is modelled.
Particular attention is given to the interactions among businesses, universities, financial institutions, research centers, innovative start-ups, incubators, and accelerators.
